Drive to visit the temples of Koh Ker (111 km around 2h30 drive), the former capital of the Angkorian Empire. In this sparsely populated jungle, 180 monuments have been discovered to date but most are still buried in the forest. The main temple to visit is Prasat Thom, the seven-story pyramid 36 meters high, and this archaeological site of Koh Ker temple, spanning 1,187 ha, has been officially added to the UNESCO World Heritage List on September 17, 2023.

The visit of Koh Ker can combine with the visit of Beng Mealea temple, known as the jungle temple. This magnificent temple has been used as a filming location for several films, including the award-winning 2004 film "Two Brothers" starring Guy Pearce and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. You will understand why when you arrive here…
